Q) Is SFP a Christian Party?
A) Our policies reflect many aspects of traditional Christian teaching, and many of our members are Christians. However, we are not aligned with any religious faith as a party, and we welcome members and supporters of all faiths and none.
Q) How is the party funded?
A) We are funded by membership fees and donations from supporters. We are not backed by large corporations or major donors, whether in the UK or abroad.
Q) Are you just in Scotland?
A) Currently, yes. However, we hope to expand to the rest of the UK in future. Please get in touch if you are interested in helping us do so.
Q) Where are the foetus images that you use from?
A) The images we use are sourced from publicly available scientific and educational resources. One such source is: https://erf.science/#high-resolution
Q) Who leads the SFP?
A) The party is led by the following team:
Richard Lucas (Leader), David Richardson (Chairman), Phil Holden (Deputy Leader), Gareth Kirk and Leo Lanahan (Deputy Chairmen), Euan Morrice (Treasurer), and Niel Deepnarain (Administrator).
Additional local and administrative roles are held by members across Scotland.
Q) Is the SFP far-right?
A) No. We reject extremism in all its forms. We do not support ethno-nationalism or hostility towards any group, including immigrants or people of different faiths.
On rare occasions where individuals associated with such views have been identified, they have not remained within the party.
Q) Did Richard Lucas make a joke about Jo Cox being murdered?
A) Richard Lucas wrote at the time of Jo Cox’s murder to urge greater care in public discourse and to challenge irresponsible language about violence in politics.
A later satirical letter commented on how the tragedy was being used within political arguments during the EU referendum. Descriptions of this as a “joke about Jo Cox being murdered” are misleading.

Q) Did Richard Lucas compare “homosexuality to incest”?
A) No. Richard Lucas did not compare or equate homosexuality with incest. He argued that certain lines of reasoning used in debates about marriage could, if applied consistently, be extended to other areas.
He remains opposed to incest, and the party would oppose any move to legalise it.
